At Innotrans 2018 Interpipe presented improved wheel and wheelset designs for European market under KLW brand


The company presented its new Ultimate product line with enhanced operational performance at Innotrans 2018 – the largest fair for railway technologies.

Ultimate is a product line of low stress wheels and wheelsets developed by R&D Department in order to meet all European requirements for mechanical and thermo-mechanical resistance during braking, as well as low noise level requirements.



The Ultimate line has an improved wheel disk design that enables withstanding the increased loads. Such a wheel has a better performance and is more reliable in operation. This solution can be an alternative to BA 004 type for freight railcars.

As of now, this product range is available for diameters of 840 mm, 920 mm, and 1000 mm. Ultimate designs has declinations for axles with load of 23.5 and 25 tons per axle. The product line complies with a number of European standards, namely EN 13979, UIC 510-5, and EN 13262, and is certified in accordance with TSI requirements.
