Internships
INTERPIPE Company provides an opportunity for students of metallurgy higher-education institutions to undergo field and pre-graduation practical training at Company’s mills.In 2013 the production facilities of the Company hosted the practical training of more than 900 students with the following majors:
• Ferrous metallurgy;
• Mechanical engineering;
• Automated industrial process control;
• Metal deformation process;
• Heat and power engineering;
• Power engineering;
• Automation systems;
• Automation and computer-integrated technologies;
• Maintenance and repairs of metallurgy enterprise equipment;
• Welding fabrication; and
• Other core majors.
FIELD PRACTICAL TRAINING FOR HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS’ STUDENTS
Participants:
3rd year students of metallurgy higher-education institutions.
The program includes the following:
- General acquaintance with the production facility;
- Consolidation of the theoretical knowledge, obtained during the studies of special disciplines;
- Obtainment of practical skills for management decision-making at one of INTERPIPE enterprises;
- Topic selection and gathering of information for the yearly project.
PRE-GRADUATION PRACTICAL TRAINING FOR HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS’ STUDENTS
Participants:
4th and 5th year students of metallurgy higher-education institutions.
The program includes the following:
- Obtainment of practical skills for management decision-making at one of INTERPIPE enterprises;
- Mastering of management procedures and technical tools to carry out works, related to Company’s economic and management activities;
- Development of a diploma thesis on the following majors: Metal deformation process, Metal heat treatment, Mechanical engineering technology, Metallurgical equipment; Heat and power engineering Ecology and Environmental protection; Enterprise economy and management.
In 2013 twenty eight students will continue to work at INTERPIPE team of professionals after the defense of their diploma thesis.
Internship period: 1 to 2 months depending on the Curriculum.
PRODUCTION TRAINING FOR VOCATIONAL SCHOOL AND COLLEGE STUDENTS
Participants:
3rd and 4th year students of metallurgy vocational schools.
The program includes the following:
- Obtainment of a workman profession;
- Obtainment of professional knowledge, skills, and abilities;
- Learning about and mastering of existing technologies and equipment;
- Mastering of practical skills.
PRE-GRADUATION PRACTICAL TRAINING FOR VOCATIONAL SCHOOL AND COLLEGE STUDENTS
Participants:
4th year students of metallurgy vocational schools.
The program includes the following:
- Consolidation and development of knowledge, practical abilities, and skills at one of INTERPIPE enterprises;
- Learning about and mastering of existing technologies and equipment;
- Mastering of the professional expertise and readiness for individual labor activities at one of INTERPIPE enterprises.
PRODUCTION TRAINING FOR VOCATIONAL AND TRAINING SCHOOL STUDENTS
Participants:
1-3 year students of metallurgy vocational and training schools.
The program includes the following:
1st year – mastering of working techniques of a specific profession and production training on the practical skills;
2nd year – conclusion of the production training and in-depth mastering of techniques and skills of a specific profession;
3rd year – Consolidation and development of professional knowledge and skills of a specific profession, as well as high-quality preparation for high-efficiency individual labor at employee’s work place.
Practical training period: during the entire academic year depending on the Curriculum.
SUMMER INTERNSHIP FOR HIGHER-EDUCATION INSTITUTION AND VOCATIONAL SCHOOL STUDENTS
Internship objectives: obtainment of experience for execution of professional tasks and duties; development and improvement of professional skills, knowledge, and abilities; learning about and mastering of new technologies and machinery; and mastering of additional competencies.
