The Company shipped tubing with premium UPJ-M connections for the overhaul of 39 wells at the Bilciurești gas field in southern Romania, supporting a project aimed at increasing the field’s daily gas output from 14 million to 20 million cubic meters.
Over the past decade, Romania has steadily increased its natural gas production. In parallel with the development of new fields both onshore and offshore, the country has also launched modernization initiatives for existing wells and pipelines.
Ivan Mazanka, Pipe Sales Director for the European market at Interpipe:
- This is the first major shipment of pipes with UPJ-M threading not only to Romania, but to the broader European market, where the company is already well known in other segments. The UPJ-M premium design is ideally suited for gas production due to its high gas-tight integrity and resistance to both internal and external pressure. We hope this successful string run will open the door for our products in other key energy projects across the region.
