Solving client’s challenges is the main drive behind the Interpipe R&D team's designs. Cross-threading issues during large-diameter casing make-up motivated us to expand our proprietary line of tubular connections with a fast make-up thread called UPJ-QR.

Interpipe’s UPJ-QR "Quick Run" connection is an enhanced alternative to API BTC for large diameters. This easy-to-run connection was explicitly engineered for surface and intermediate casing. Its robust thread geometry and steep taper make the UPJ-QR thread faster and more reliable than standard API Butress and compatible connections.

Pipe strings with UPJ-QR connection are already in use at gas condensate fields in Ukraine. Its fast performance has been proven on site, ensuring complete make-up in 4-5 turns over 20 seconds for 13 3/8” casing, compared to the usual 10-15 turns over few minutes for API BC.
