The project encompasses drilling of the two deviated deep wells of 3,278.5 m and 3,300 m in the East Styrian Basin southeast of Bad Blumau, aimed at exploitation of thermal waters with a temperature of 125 °C. By relying on renewable energy, the facility aims to reduce import dependence and strengthen Austria’s domestic food supply.
To meet the conditions of the geo-pressured well, Interpipe manufactured intermediate casing pipes made from L80 steel grade. It demonstrated sufficient strength to withstand burst, collapse, and tensile stresses at this depth, maintaining stable mechanical properties at the target temperature.
