In Türkiye, the company delivered 850 mm railway wheels for the HT 65000 passenger trains, which operate at speeds of up to 250 km/h.
YHT, a Turkish flagship train service, transports thousands of passengers every day. It has a rapidly growing number of routes that already covers western and eastern part of Türkiye.
For this batch, KLW utilized ER8 steel, Category 1, engineered specifically for high-speed rail applications. A critical requirement was maintaining a precisely controlled rim hardness range to ensure compliance with the most rigorous quality standards and production processes.

- We’ve set an ambitious goal to enter and grow in the passenger wheel market. This is quite a challenging task, as this segment is even more technologically demanding than the freight one. Every passenger train has its own wheel design, each national railway operator has its own standards, and the certification process is usually complex and lengthy. We supply wheels for Turkish railway market for years, so we understand their needs very well. Deliveries for YHT line is a great opportunity for us to gain a stronghold in the high-speed segment in Türkiye and the region.
