Healthcare

Interpipe systematically patronises medical institutions in the region. All assistance is targeted, meaning it is provided to a specific hospital and varies according to its current needs. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, we have been focusing on hospitals that treat and rehabilitate wounded civilians and soldiers.

State-of-the-Art Equipment

With the outbreak of full-scale war, Dnipro hospitals were the first to admit seriously wounded individuals. Operating theatres are open around the clock and all highly qualified specialists are involved. The number of lives saved could have been increased only with extra equipment that increases the range of care available, reduces surgery time and doctors' workload. Interpipe has been actively involved in equipping hospitals with such equipment. Among other things, the company purchased a mobile C-arc X-ray system, an automated anaesthetic station, a bronchofibroscope, pneumatic aspirators and other necessary equipment. Hospitals are also provided with equipment for physical rehabilitation after injuries.

Surgery Supplies

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Interpipe has been providing hospitals in the Dnipropetrovsk region with supplies: artificial blood products, anaesthetics, antiseptics, infusion solutions, sutures, antibiotics, bandages, etc. The company's specialists have kept in touch with the doctors around the clock and met their current needs throughout the day. Almost 29,000 syringes and catheters were delivered, as well as 19,000 sterile bandages and plasters. In addition to medical supplies, the hospitals received drinking water, hygiene products, medical stretchers, folding beds for hospital bomb shelters, clothes and more.

Portable rescue equipment for the battlefield

In addition to hospitals in the region, Interpipe also patronises medical units of the military. The greatest demand for such assistance was at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. In the first weeks, the company provided the military with targeted medicines and medical supplies. After the stabilisation of the army unit supply, efforts were focused on purchasing portable equipment, including oxygen concentrators, ECG machines, medical cabinets for sterilising tools, dental equipment and coagulators.

Repairs & Reconstruction after Shelling

Repairs and reconstruction of premises significantly increase the volume and quality of medical care provided by hospitals in the region. Work is planned at the request of medical institutions. Part of the work is to restore the damage caused by shelling. Among other things, we insulated the facade, repaired the roof, replaced damaged windows and doors and reconstructed operating theatres, wards and corridors.

Addressing COVID-19

In 2020–2021, Interpipe purchased more than UAH 63 million worth of equipment and materials for 25 medical institutions in the region and the country to deal with COVID-19.
In total, Interpipe helped purchase the following for medical institutions:

Promoting a Healthy Lifestyle

Building Sports Grounds

Interpipe Dnipro Half Marathon

Race Nation

With the support of Interpipe, new sports grounds were built and opened for Dnipro residents. A new workout spot was installed in the Ihren residential area. Gates and backboards on football pitches and basketball courts were renovated in several districts of the city's Left Bank and table tennis areas were built.

In 2016–2020, the company was the title sponsor of Interpipe Dnipro Half Marathon, one of the largest regional half-marathons in Ukraine. The event was held for the first time on 22 May 2016. Back then, the event programme included adult and children's races. More than 1,400 participants from 9 countries, including almost 250 children, took to the starting line. Qualified coaches helped all participants prepare for the half-marathon. In November 2020, the 5th Interpipe Dnipro Half-Marathon was held online due to the pandemic. More than 2,000 runners from 22 countries took part in the race. 170 participants were Interpipe employees in Dnipro, Nikopol and Samar (previously known as Novomoskovsk).

The company sponsored an obstacle race: the Race Nation. The participants were both professionals and those who cannot imagine their lives without amateur sports. They covered distances of 3 and 5 km. Part of the course was cross-country. A total of 85 Interpipe employees came out to test their strength.

Technical Education Ecosystem in the Region

Interpipe has been consistently investing in the technical education ecosystem in Dnipro and hopes to encourage young people to study technical specialities and work at the company's enterprises. The company is gradually supplying schools and higher education institutions in the city with important technical equipment, helping to adapt curricula and train teachers of specialised subjects. The company is making technical speciality fashionable again, building and developing a high-quality staff training chain based on the principle of school — vocational school — university — enterprise.

Excursions to Production Sites

To change the attitude of modern youth to working professions and eradicate the stereotype of hard manual labour at a plant, Interpipe invites Dnipro schoolchildren and students to career guidance tours. The tour showcases all stages of railway wheel and pipe production.

School: mechatronics laboratories and labour rooms

The company is reconstructing labour rooms in Dnipro schools and building modern mechatronics laboratories. In the labs, schoolchildren practice using lathes, drilling, milling and sharpening machines. All equipment purchased for future specialists is new and modern.
In the mechatronics class, students learn to work with mini-copies of industrial equipment. During the lesson, children assemble robots and program them to perform certain functions, such as delivering cargo or distributing parts.

Vocational school: machine tool workshop

In Dnipro, the company modernised Vocational School No. 2 and opened a modern machine tool workshop. This set a kind of precedent in vocational education. The new workshop was set up from scratch, with furniture and computers purchased and, most importantly, modern software-controlled lathes, milling machines and sawmills installed to replace the old ones. They perform complex and very precise work. The machine tool workshop is capable of training 150 specialists per year. 30 of them are vocational school students and 9th grade graduates. Another 120 people can take advanced training courses under an accelerated programme.

Universities: mechatronics laboratories

Interpipe invested in the construction of 2 mechatronics laboratories at the Dnipro Polytechnic National Technical University. Both are fully equipped with German equipment, which is an industrial production simulator. These include conveyors, robots, automated warehouses, sorting and metalworking lines, etc. It is used for classes for schoolchildren and for teaching mechatronics to university, vocational school and college students. These laboratories allow students to put their programming skills into practice and experiment with devices: small replicas of those already in operation at Interpipe's plants.

Educational projects: WOW Physics

In 2024, the free educational project WOW Physics was launched in Dnipro for high school students. Under its auspices, teachers of Dnipro Polytechnic conduct open interactive classes for students in mechanics, optics, thermodynamics, electricity and other areas of physics. All classes, in addition to theory and problem solving, include demonstrations and experiments. For this purpose, Interpipe purchased the appropriate equipment to enhance the university's existing facilities.

Masterclasses for teachers

Teacher training is another consistent step in Interpipe's effort to develop the technical education ecosystem for young people in Dnipro. After all, in order to teach children technical disciplines, teachers first need to master the cutting-edge science themselves. Dnipro Polytechnic National Technical University is helping with this. The university systematically teaches mechatronics to teachers of schools, lycea and gymnasia in Dnipro, so that they can pass cutting-edge knowledge to their students. At first, teachers take a lecture course on theory, then practice and then they showcase their programmes.

Community Support

Reconstruction of the city embankment in Nikopol

Since 2017, Interpipe has been reconstructing Nikopol city's embankment in stages. Over this time, paving stones were laid, granite steps to the monument were restored, flower beds were arranged and lighting as well as benches were installed. In 2022, the project was suspended due to systematic shelling from the occupied city of Enerhodar.

Building New Recreational Areas

In 2020–2022, Interpipe reconstructed 6 public gardens on the Left Bank of the Dnipro at the initiative of community activists. The company's funds were used to create comfortable pedestrian areas, build children's playgrounds and install benches.

Promoting the Greening Ukraine Environmental Campaign

In 2020–2021, Interpipe became a regional partner of the Million Trees in 24 Hours Ukrainian nationwide environmental campaign. In addition to supporting the campaign, in autumn and spring, the company planted more than 1,350 trees at its production assets and in the cities where it operates. Interpipe employees volunteered to do this work.
